How to Shop It: Forever 21

In my first 'How to Shop It' post I will share my tips on how to shop Forever21.  Keep in mind stores like Forever21 offer mostly of the moment trendy items and are not meant to be a place to find work staples or long lasting clothing.  With that said, take it for it is, wildly inexpensive garments and accessories that are fresh and fun.  Here are some things I always look for:

-Basics: tees, leggings, hoodies, sportswear, yoga pants.

-Statement necklaces, hoop earrings, unique rings, stackable bangles, trendy watches, headbands, headwraps, scarves, gloves and cheapy sunglasses perfect for the beach or places you wouldn't want to lose your Chanel's.

-Handbags can be tricky here but on occasion I have found cute messenger or briefcase styles for work that look super pricey, but run only around $30! I have also come across some great evening clutches. My most recent was a black quilted clutch with a detachable chain strap made with very high quality materials.

-On trend dresses in all styles: maxi, mini, midi

-Love 21- their newer line offers a more modern, elegant look that can be work appropriate and has a slightly more mature feel.  Right now they have some great maxi dresses and shorts as well as light blouses that are great for those summer days in the office.

-Heritage 1981- look for fun tropical vacation dresses, slouchy pants, linen blazers, stripped tanks and cute rompers.  Heritage line has actually done somewhat of an overhaul and is completely surprising lately, so check it out!

-Shoes- again, not high quality= not very comfortable, but hey, if you see a pair of right now shoes for the new season and know you won't live in them, you can't really beat the price, as most range between $20.00-$30.00.  The flat sandals are the way to go right now, they have a large selection with edgy embellishments.  I have also found their louboutin-ish platform pumps are quit comfortable to walk in and give dresses a sleek look.

-Blazers- Most of their blazers, be it cropped, boyfriend or natural length are very quality and look designer I have found many styles in black, navy, nude and blush colors that I rotate in my work wear and for a night out.

Keep in mind, when you are shopping the website, different lines and styles fit differently especially if you don't have a skinny model figure, so try to shop in-store if you have one near by and happy hunting!
